HES-SO Valais-Wallis is developing a new electric train in collaboration with “Chemins de fer du Jura”.
The project consists in the simulation and the control of a new locomotive for the estimation of the energy consumption and the perspective to be integrated in a grid simulator. Typhoon simulation tool and the EMR library will be used from the PANDA philosophy. From this study, HES-So Valais-Wallis and Chemiens de fer du Jura will provide a feedback on the methodology.
HES-SO Valais-Wallis has 9 research institutes dedicated to applied research and development (R&D). The research conducted at these institutes serves to continuously update the training they provide with the latest findings and to promote the transfer of knowledge and the sharing of expertise. They run various projects both within and between disciplines in collaboration with industry partners and with other universities in Switzerland and abroad.
