SNCF proposes to develop hydrogen-fuelled locomotive for future trains.

The use case consists in the simulation and the control of a hydrogen-fuelled locomotive for the estimation of the energy consumption. Matlab-simulink and the EMR library are used from the PANDA philosophy. This study will provide a feedback on the methodology.

In every case, their aim is to identify and deploy emerging technologies. In France, rail is already the greenest form of transport. With partners in industry and French regional authorities, SNCF is trialling new propulsion methods to cut our direct carbon emissions to zero by 2050.
